Effective Oct. 1, 1999 Carbon Monoxide
Alarms must be installed in all new construction of 1 Family, 2 Family
and Multiple Family Dwellings and New Hotels. Effective Oct. 1,
2000 all existing hotels must have them installed.
Carbon Monoxide Alarms are required where
there is an attached Garage, or fuel-fired appliances such as a
Furnace, Boiler, Water Heater, Stove, Dryer, Fireplace or Wood Burning
Stove.

These
Alarms must conform to UL Standard 2034,
equipped with a digital readout of the carbon monoxide
concentration which displays continually, or in alarm
condition. The device shall be equipped with a button to
indicate the maximum carbon monoxide concentration recorded
since the feature was last reset.
