It is good to find a site like this . I wish I had this 10 or 20years ago. It is nice to see people from all over, especially Canada writing in and the humor as well as the serious part. There is not a lot of basic difference in the Canadian code and the U.S. Each province can add rules so we have to be up on theirs as well and must have a certificate for each province we work in. I love the photos and discussions forum even though I am retired at 60 for 2 years with Parkinsons.

This website is fascinating!! I happened to come across it about three weeks ago while looking up articles on knob-and-tube wiring, which is so prevalent in my area (southeast Texas), as I guess it is everywhere. I am not actually an electrical contractor, but I have had extensive exposure to this profession. I have done work on my own residence and those of friends of mine. I pride myself on doing work of the highest quality while following local and national codes very carefully. I particularly enjoy the discussion forums and the photos submitted which show some of the bizarre work which takes place in this business today (the photo showing the Zinsco panel in the tub/shower stall comes to mind). Being a member of the local fire department for the past 26 years, I have had the opportunity (or misfortune) to see a great many residences and businesses fall victim to extremely poor electrical practices. If I can ever learn how to operate my daughter's digital camera, I might try submitting some of the more unusual ones for discussion. Thanks again for offering this website. I enjoy it every day.
